Dr. Ruth Simmons, past president of Smith College, Brown and Prairie view A&M Universities joins Dr. Adena Loston, president of St. Philip's College together for one incredible evening to discuss their journey to leadership. Dr. Loston's book, The Ark of Leadership and Dr. Simmon's book, Up Home will be available for purchase and signing by the authors. There will be a pre-discussion reception with our distinguished guests at 5:30 PM. Reception cost is $30 general admission and $25 for SAAACAM members. The discussion at 7:00 PM is no charge however, registration is required.
Join us every first Tuesday for story time at Hemisfair. Each month young explorers learn and play around the theme of being different while being included. A short story is shared followed by a hands-on learning activity. This month's book is "I Can Be Anything From A to Z!" by Dr. Walter Milton, Jr. and Joel A. Freeman, PhD. This book teaches youngsters that they can be anything they want to be, no matter what, as long as they keep learning! We look forward to seeing you in the park!
