The Ezekiel ‘EZ’ Jenkins Legacy Award in Volunteerism

  • Mia Morris
      • Mia Morris has dedicated her life to the service of others. From offering critical support for displaced families after Hurricane Katrina to counseling survivors of the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, TX, Mia hasn’t wavered in her emotional and physical care. A devoted member of True Vision Church, Mia fed countless youth at lock-in events and served as a Stephen Minister since 2005. Mia serves as a pillar of the secular community as well; she is a docent, gala volunteer, and outreach strategist for SAAACAM. She has also served as the City of San Antonio Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission Commemorative Program Chair for many years. Mia’s unwavering devotion to her community and the entire world can be felt by every person who meets her.
  • Lakeeta Williams
      • Lakeeta Williams is the founder and executive director of Keeta’s Place, Inc., an organization dedicated to creating and sustaining programs for girls in middle and high school. She personally engages with participants and their families, supporting them and empowering them to become strong, independent, and hardworking. In addition to this, Lakeeta is also a supporter of elder care and food security, delivering food and smiles to every client with the Meals on Wheels and Good Samaritan programs. Lakeeta measures her success by the impact she has on others, not on awards or fame; her heart lies with the community, and she strives every day to make a difference.
