The 2026 Black History SAAACAM Film Club invites the community to explore a powerful year long journey through stories that illuminate courage, creativity, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice. Spanning subjects from civil rights leadership, women’s activism, and mental health storytelling to maternal legacies, artistic innovation, structural inequities, cultural identity, educational advocacy, military achievement, and the fight for human rights, this film series highlights the depth and diversity of African American experiences. Together, these films encourage audiences to confront difficult truths, honor often-overlooked histories, celebrate artistic and cultural brilliance, and consider how past struggles and triumphs continue to shape our collective future. The Film Club aims to spark conversation, inspire curiosity, and cultivate a more informed and connected San Antonio community through shared engagement with these meaningful narratives.
