KEEP THE STORY ALIVE: GIVE TODAY!

There’s a story here—and it’s still being written.

At the San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum (SAAACAM), we exist to ensure that the rich, complex, and powerful history of African Americans in our region is not only preserved—but experienced, shared, and carried forward.

Every day, we open doors to history that has too often been overlooked. And we do it at no cost to the community.

Through free admission to our exhibit space, monthly film clubs, story times in the park, author talks, pop-up exhibitions, school curriculum, summer camps, and history harvests, we are creating access points for thousands of people—students, families, educators, and visitors—to connect with stories that shape identity, belonging, and possibility.

Why Your Support Matters Now

While we have raised over $1 million toward our capital campaign and invested more than $2.3 million into our future home in the historic Kress-Grant buildings, the reality is this:

Our operating needs are immediate.

The very programs that serve thousands—free of charge—depend on philanthropic support to continue. Behind every exhibit, every student reached, every story preserved, is a real cost.

Your gift today ensures that:

  • Our doors stay open
  • Our programs remain accessible
  • Our community continues to see itself reflected in history
