SUMMARY:SAAACAM Community Charette #4 - October 25th
DESCRIPTION:EVENT WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 10AM CST \nOn Saturday October 25th\, SAAACAM will host its fourth community charette as part of the ongoing planning for the new SAAACAM Cultural Center museum\, set to open late 2027. This interactive session will provide an opportunity for the community to share feedback on the museum halls and exhibits that have begun taking shape through collaborative curation. Participants will engage in open dialogue\, review developing concepts\, and help ensure that the stories\, artifacts\, and experiences represented reflect the richness\, diversity\, and authenticity of San Antonio’s African American history and culture. This gathering continues SAAACAM’s commitment to building a museum shaped by the voices\, perspectives\, and priorities of the community it serves. \nThere are only 200 attendance spots available. ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED to secure your place in this historic event! \nThis event will be held inside SAAACAM’s new home\, located at the 305 E. Houston Street in downtown San Antonio inside the former Kress/Grand Department Store. Continental breakfast and a boxed lunch will be provided for registered attendees. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and attire\, as we will be actively walking throughout the upcoming exhibit space halls. \n*Please Be Aware* \nThis event will be held in an active construction site. Attendees acknowledge any inherent risk in participation and agree to waive any liability and hold harmless the SAAACAM organization as well as any SAAACAM staff member\, volunteer\, contractor\, or participant in the event of any injury or loss.
