Two Themes – One Event

Community Roots. Focussing on places such as schools, churches, local ranches & farms, Freedom Colonies, businesses, etc. These locations were where African Americans came together to share experiences and build community.

Black Brilliance. Focussing on people – barrier breakers in medicine, science, business, and other fields who showcased their achievements, both the well-known and the unsung heroes.

Bring us your stories and belongings! By preserving these pieces of history we pass along stories of resilience, brilliance, and the coming together of community!

This event will take place at The Davis-Scott YMCA, 1213 Iowa Street, SATX 78203 on Saturday November 23rd from 10am-4pm. This event is FREE and open to the public.
