The San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum (SAAACAM) invites you to share your stories and bring items related to your church. All church members are welcome!
Items related to your church that you may have collected over the years might include:
- Pamphlets
- Souvenirs from church events
- Newsletters
- Church Fans
- Photos
- Family Bibles
- Items from current and past Ministers of Music
- Songbooks and Hymnals
- Obituaries and Funeral Programs
- Choir and Clergy Robes
- Collection Plates
- Record Books/ Membership Rosters
- Anniversary/ Special Day Programs
(Please note that you have the option of keeping your originals or donating to the museum’s collection. We will also have the equipment and option to digitally scan your items.)
Please feel free to call ahead and schedule to record your oral history. Also, please note that it might take some time before we get to your oral history slot. Be prepared to wait if you would like to do your oral history during the allotted time. First come, first serve! Oral histories may be scheduled at a later date, depending on availability.
